Historically, there have been handling issues with calixarenes due to their insolubility in hydrocarbon solvents. In response to the inherent insolubility, we have developed a new patent-pending process that improves calixarene solubility in oilfield solvents to enable easier handling for further use and modifications.

Making Handling of Calixarenes Possible
A standard calixarene product, shown on the left, produces a dark, opaque solution. With SI Group’s solubilizing process, that same product produces the clear, amber solution on the right, ideal for improving the solubility of calixarene resins in hydrocarbon solvents. This innovation also improves process handling of the material for further use and modifications.
REZIFLOW™ OILFIELD CHEMISTRIES OUTPERFORM COMPETITORS
SI Group’s REZIFLOW 2600 and the new, solubilized calixarene alkoxylate emulsion breaker intermediate, REZIFLOW 2605 were tested in crude oil against a commercial product and a blank. REZIFLOW 2605 outperforms all other products in this Western Hemisphere crude.
